Loki was made early in 2014. I think I’d just figured out how to use Image Lines ‘Harmor’ VST for sampling and was getting carried away with my low end bass and pads. It suffers a little for having too much going but I couldn't bring myself to change it.

It was one of those projects where you stumble home after a night at the pub and think:

‘I don’t care how this turns out, I’m just going to open the DAW and have fun with music for an hour.’

Well that turned into 6 hours and at the end of that I found I’d made the first piece of music I was kind of happy with, very quirky, a little weird in parts but it was a whole composition, done in one evening.

Didn't think that was possible for myself at the time.

The vocals are from a Canadian sample I got from freesound.org, that website’s great for picking up live recordings.

I think Loki might have even been the track that sparked the EP idea before it became the Album project.
